Search for children seen wandering streets in pyjamas
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. An extensive search was under way today after two young boys were spotted out alone in the early hours of the morning.
Nottinghamshire Police said they received a call from a man who saw the children, believed to be aged between four and six, in Bulwell, Nottingham, at about 12.30am.
He said the boys, seen in the Cinderhill Road area of Bulwell town centre, were not with an adult.
No children have been reported as missing, police said, but another member of the public also reported seeing the pair in Bulwell town centre at about 5.30am.
A spokeswoman urged any parents or carers to get in touch if they thought their children may have been out in the area overnight.
Both are described as white with dark hair. One is about six years old, of slim build, and around 4ft 6ins tall, wearing a dark-coloured pyjama top.
The second boy is aged between four and five years old, around 4ft tall, of slim build, and was wearing a blue pyjama top.
Inspector Ian Cresswell said: "It is possible the boys got out in the night and have since returned home.
"I urge parents to please let us know if these two boys could be their children and to let us know that they are safe and well."
