Oliver Cheshire, 29, took to Twitter to say he was one of those who helped to detain the alleged driver.
The model is thought to have been driving when the out-of-control motorist ploughed into pedestrians and jumped into action to pin the culprit to the ground.
"Thanks for messaging everybody. I'm OK. Thank you to the men who helped me pin him down and the police for coming so quickly," he tweeted.
Mr Cheshire also added that two others helped him tackle the man.
“He was driving down the pavement and hit 11 to 12 people. Then the guy was screaming. He looked at me and I was really in shock,” Mr Cheshire told the Daily Mail.
"I got out of my car and grabbed him — three of us grabbed him — and someone phoned the police. The girls in his car said he was an Uber driver."
Police were called at 2.41pm to reports of the collision in Exhibition Road in South Kensington just outside the museum at one of the busiest tourist hotspots in the capital.
Authorities confirmed it was a road traffic accident and not terror-related.
Eleven people were injured in the collision although none of their injuries are believed to be life threatening or life changing.
