Your support makes all the difference.An elderly motorist died in hospital after his car crashed into a terraced house.
The pensioner, whose vehicle left a 5ft by 4ft hole in one wall of the property, was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the Queen's Hospital in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was alerted to the incident in Park Street, Burton, shortly before 2pm yesterday.
Two land ambulances and an air ambulance were sent to the scene in response to the accident, which also left a man in the house with minor injuries.
An ambulance service spokesman said crews had attempted to resuscitate the driver, who was unconscious, but his condition deteriorated.
The spokesman stated: "One of the paramedics from the air ambulance travelled with the land crew as they took the man to Queen's Hospital in Burton on blue lights.
"Sadly, despite all of the efforts it was not possible to save him and he was confirmed dead shortly after arrival."
The spokesman added that a 21-year-old man, who was in the lounge of the house when the accident happened, had been taken to the same hospital with a minor abrasion to his head and back pain.
