Bandsmen look on as loyalists disrupt a march by 500 Irish republican sympathisers through Edinburgh yesterday. Seventeen people were arrested during the march, held to commemorate the life of James Connolly, the Irish nationalist who was born in the Scottish capital in 1868 and executed for his part in the 1916 Easter Rising in Dublin. It was the first republican demonstration in Edinburgh for more than three years
