Passengers on a key cross-London rail route will face disruption for the rest of the week following overhead wire problems.

The difficulty, at the London Overground station at Camden Road, means trains between Highbury & Islington and Gospel Oak are currently suspended.

This suspension is expected to last until next Monday and until then there will be also other changes on this section of the line.

These include an amended, shuttle, service between Stratford and Highbury & Islington and between Gospel Oak and Willesden Junction/Clapham Junction.

Passengers travelling between Gospel Oak and Richmond will need to change trains at Willesden Junction. Journey times may be extended by up to 30 minutes.

Another problem affecting rail travel today was on services run by the London Midland and Virgin Trains companies and was due to safety checks on the line near Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire.

This led to delays between Rugby in the West Midlands and Watford Junction in Hertfordshire.

And in Cornwall today, taxis had to replace trains between Liskeard and Looe due to a signalling problem.
