Your support makes all the difference.The dramatic moment a double decker bus rolled into the middle of a London street with no driver at the wheel was captured on camera by a cab driver.
The vehicle trundled onto the Marylebone Road in the early hours of Sunday morning and was saved just seconds before it hit a traffic island and sign post by the driver, who can be seen leaping into his seat and hitting the brakes.
The cab driver, known as Aky on Twitter, captured the event on his dashcam and later posted the footage to the social media platform. No casualties were reported.
“He wasn’t in the driving seat,” the cab driver can be heard saying to his passenger on the video, as bus starts to rool away.
“What’s he doing, is he sleeping? F****** hell” the passenger replied.
“Runaway @TfLTPH bus 20/08/17 4.30am, Grt Central St on to Marylebone Rd, he got behind the wheel just in time, thank God no casualties,” Aky wrote on Twitter alongside the footage.
Transport for London has called for the bus operator, Go-Ahead, to urgently investigate the footage.
A Transport for London spokesperson said: "We have asked the bus operator, Go Ahead, to urgently investigate this footage and to report back to us."
The Independent has contacted Go-Ahead London for comment, but none had arrived at the time of publication.
