Your support makes all the difference.Katie Hopkins' colleagues rejoiced when it was announced she was to leave LBC, it has been reported.
The highly controversial radio presenter and columnist will leave her job at the radio station "immediately", according to LBC.
And her colleagues at the station are said to have been delighted after receiving an email confirming that she would depart.
There were "massive cheers and applause" in the newsroom after confirmation was received that she would be leaving, according to Amol Rajan, the BBC's media editor.
Ms Hopkins had hosted a phone-in every Sunday on the station. Those shows proved popular but controversial, generating huge amounts of criticism on social media for her often extreme right wing views.
An LBC spokesman said: "LBC and Katie Hopkins have agreed that Katie will leave LBC effective immediately."
Ms Hopkins was sacked after a tweet that called for a "final solution" to Islamic terrorism, which some suggested was a reference to the extermination of Jewish people by Hitler. LBC has not yet publicly linked the tweet to Ms Hopkins' firing, but the decision came after a concerted campaign, which included petitions and promises by high profile personalities not to appear on the station until she was removed.
Hopkins is currently employed by the MailOnline as a columnist.
The 42-year-old is known for being an outspoken commentator on far-ranging topics from terrorism and Islam, to children's names and obesity.
She has also appeared on reality TV programmes I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! and Celebrity Big Brother, as well as fronting her own programmes on TLC entitled If Katie Hopkins Ruled the World and My Fat Story.
Following LBC's announcement, Hopkins has posted on Twitter but has not referenced her departure.
