Katie Hopkins has lost a historic High Court case to poverty campaigner and food blogger Jack Monroe.

Monroe won £24,000 in damages in a libel action against the MailOnline columnist after Hopkins implied Monroe had defaced or vandalised war memorials.

In the High Court's judicial judgement, the judge, Mr Justice Warby referred to Hopkins as a "rentagob".

The meticulous judgement also details the machinations of Twitter interactions.

Monroe said: “It’s taken 21 months but today the High Court ruled that Hopkins statements to/about me were defamatory. I sued her for libel. and I won.”
