An inquest will be held today into the deaths of five women killed in an Ecuador bus crash.
The four teenagers and one 26-year-old tour leader died in April last year as they travelled from the country's capital, Quito, to a fishing village as part of a trip organised by gap year travel specialist VentureCo.
Ecuadorian police said a lorry carrying a load of sand crashed into the left side of the bus in Sancan.
The lorry driver fled the scene.
A further 12 Britons, a French national, two Ecuadorians, the driver and a tour guide were also injured in the crash.
Cheshire coroner Nicholas Rheinberg will hear the two-day inquest at Macclesfield Town Hall.
The proceedings will cover the deaths of: Emily Sadler, 19, of Northwood, Hertfordshire; Rebecca Logie, 19, of Chorley, Lancs; Indira Swann, 18, of Maidenhead, Berkshire; Elizabeth Pincock, 19, of Taunton, Somerset; and Sarah Howard, 26, of Northwich, Cheshire.
