A husband is believed to have shot his wife and turned the gun on himself after a stand-off with police yesterday at the couple's isolated Welsh farmhouse.
Armed officers had been called to the farm, near Dinas, Pembrokshire, at 9am after reports that the husband had armed himself. After a four-hour siege, police stormed the house, where they found the bodies of the couple, both of whom appeared to have been shot. A Dyfed-Powys police spokesman said: "It is obviously a tragedy, especially at Christmas time. We have recovered a firearm, and at this stage are not looking for anybody else."
Before releasing the couple's names, police were trying to contact their relatives so they could be formally identified.
