Your support makes all the difference.The Dowager Duchess of Northumberland has died at the age of 90, her family said today.
Born Lady Elizabeth Montagu Douglas Scott, the daughter of the 8th Duke of Buccleuch, she was the mother of the current Duke of Northumberland, Ralph.
She married Hugh Percy, the 10th Duke of Northumberland, who died in 1988 and who was succeeded by their eldest son Harry, who died seven years later.
The family said she died peacefully at her home on the Percys' Albury Estate in Surrey yesterday.
In a statement, they said: "Since her marriage, she made Alnwick her home and was an extremely well-loved, respected and recognised member of the community.
"She was involved in many local charities and societies and forged close links with both the Navy and Army.
"She served with the Wrens during the Second World War, when she was posted to Australia.
"The Duchess was enormously proud of her family, her children and her 16 grandchildren, all of whom gave her enormous pleasure.
"She will be greatly missed."
The family seat is Alnwick Castle, which was used as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.
