Your support makes all the difference.A driver and his passenger had a miracle escape on Christmas Eve after a car was sliced in two on a motorway.
Firefighters were called to the incident near junction 9A on the M11 in Essex where a vehicle had left the road and collided with a large motorway sign, splitting the mangled car into pieces.
Amazingly, nobody was trapped in the vehicle and firefighters needed only to administer first aid at the scene.
Incident commander Nigel Webb, from Saffron Walden fire station, said: “The impact effectively sliced the vehicle in half sending the front of the vehicle into the nearside bushes and the rear half on to the hard shoulder.
“This was simply an incredible escape for the driver.”
An East of England Ambulance Service Trust spokesperson added that there were two people involved in the crash, both of whom escaped with only minor injuries.
“They were remarkably fortunate to come away from the incident in this condition as the situation, and their injuries, could have easily been much more serious,” he said.
