Your support makes all the difference.A pensioner broke her neck after falling off her seat on a bus as it turned a corner, police said today.
It happened as she was on the Blue Star number 1 service from Southampton to Winchester in Hampshire at 1.15pm on September 30.
As the bus turned left towards the bus station, she fell from her seat and suffered a broken neck and bruises on her face.
The 80-year-old woman managed to walk to the bus station office where staff called an ambulance.
She was treated at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital and was in a stable condition today.
Police want to speak to two passengers who tried to help the elderly woman from Winchester as she lay injured.
Road Police Unit Enquiry Officer Nick Young said: "We are trying to establish what caused this lady to fall and whether any traffic-related offences occurred.
"We are keen to trace two fellow passengers - a man and a woman - who tried to help this lady when she fell. We know that the man was wearing a turban, but other than that we have no information about who they were."
Anyone on the bus which left Southampton for Winchester at around 12.30pm should call police on 0845 045 45 45.
