A man's vision of nature surrounding a pond created by the Georgian landowner and landscape gardener Uvedale Price, on the Foxley estate near Hereford. An enthusiast for the wild through 'counterfeit neglect' rather than Capability Brown's aggressively open spaces, his interference with nature was of the sort now seen as conservation. Price features in an exhibition at Hereford Library and Art Gallery, 'A Picturesque Landscape', illustrating the aesthetics of Georgian Herefordshire, until 16 July
