A Lockerbie-style storyline in the Yorkshire TV soap opera Emmerdale, which included traumatic disaster scenes, was yesterday strongly criticised for its 'insensitivity' by the Independent Television Commission.

Yorkshire TV rejected the criticism and said it was astonished by the ITC's 'unfounded remarks'.
