A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in an incident in south Manchester.

Officers discovered the 20-year-old victim collapsed at a home in Crossacres Road, Wythenshawe, at around 8.46am on Friday morning, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

The injured man was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he died a short time later.

Police have yet to release any further details on the circumstances of the victim’s death.

However, local media reported the incident was being treated as a suspected stabbing.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, where he is being questioned by officers.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this unimaginably difficult time and we are committed to giving them the answers they deserve,” said DCI Carl Jones of GMP’s major incident team.

“We have arrested one person in connection with this murder and are appealing for the public to come forward with any information they might have.

“Did you see anything suspicious or have any information that can assist us? If so, get in touch with us immediately.”
