War crimes arrest man released without charge
A man who was arrested in Britain for suspected war crimes in Croatia was released without charge, the Home Office said today.
Mile Bosnic, 54, was arrested in Gloucester on March 25 by officers from the Metropolitan Police Extradition Unit on a warrant issued by City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.
He had been expected to face extradition to Croatia to answer the allegations.
A Home Office spokesman said a judge in Croatia discontinued the investigation against Mr Bosnic on April 2.
"Subsequently he was released from extradition custody," he added.
A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said it was informed on April 2 that the Croatian government had withdrawn the extradition request.
A spokeswoman for City of Westminster Magistrates' Court said the matter was discharged by the court on April 3.
