Police are investigating a shocking incident that saw a bus driver in Croydon get head-butted by a man while the driver was taking his break.

The disturbing CCTV footage released by the Metropolitan Police yesterday, shows the unidentified man attack the 46-year-old driver as he waited by a bus stop outside a leisure centre in Waddon, south-west Croydon in November last year.

According to the Metropolitan Police, it is believed that the suspect had earlier stumbled over on another bus as it moved away.

The driver was taken to hospital after the incident and received treatment for a cut to the head.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “The suspect travels on this bus and gets off at the Colonnades Leisure Park and attacks the victim.

“The suspect then fled prior to police arrival.”

Police are now appealing for help in identifying the man who is described as white, aged about 40 to 50-years-old, wearing a flat cap and dark coloured jacket.
