Vandals have attacked the offices of the Bristol Evening Post newspaper, just days after the city was convulsed by rioting.
The newspaper office was severely damaged on Thursday night by people who smashed windows and threw paint over the front of the building.
Seventeen panes of glass were shattered at the front entrance of the four-storey building on Temple Way, in the city centre.
Detective Chief Inspector Will White, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: "It is unclear at this stage whether it is people involved in the disorders but we are obviously looking at that possibility and investigating it."
A report on the Evening Post website played down the link suggested by reports on Twitter, saying that there was no evidence to confirm it.
Staff at the office are working as normal. Mondo, the Evening Post gorilla statue at the front of the building, escaped without damage.
