Two injured in city shooting

Two men in their late teens were taken to hospital with leg injuries after being shot in a city street, police said today.

The victims, aged 18 and 19, are not thought to be in a life-threatening condition following the shooting in Aston, Birmingham, at about 10.30pm last night.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said Albert Road in Aston remained sealed off as forensic inquiries were taking place at the scene.

The shooting happened near the junction with Upper Sutton Street, close to the King Edward VI Grammar School.
