Police in Northern Ireland have arrested two men over the shooting of an unarmed police officer in London.
An unnamed male Pc suffered an arm injury when he was hit by a bullet when a man opened fire on officers in Kingsdown Avenue, South Croydon, on Friday night.
The two men were arrested last night in Belfast.
A 26-year-old is being taken to London for questioning about the attempted murder of the officer, while a 20-year-old suspect is being questioned in Northern Ireland on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The arrests were made by detectives in the Lisburn Road area of south Belfast.
Officers searched a house and removed a number of items for examination.
Metropolitan Police officers travelled to Northern Ireland to take custody of the 26-year-old.
Two men have already been charged in connection with the shooting.
Officers were called to Kingsdown Avenue following reports of a group of men acting suspiciously on Friday at around 10pm.
Police said a man who fled the scene opened fire on officers.
Detectives from Operation Trident, which deals with gun crime in the black community, were informed about the incident.
