Three arrested over flat murders
Detectives investigating the murder of two men found bludgeoned and stabbed to death in a south London flat have made three more arrests, Scotland Yard said.
A man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s are being questioned over the deaths of Italian Luciano Schiano, 49, and his lodger Donald MacPherson, 60.
Another man, 29, was re-arrested yesterday after originally being quizzed on October 21.
The men's bodies were discovered at a flat in West Norwood on October 20 when Mr MacPherson's daughter came to visit.
Mr Schiano regularly sold the Big Issue in Streatham high street and was known to his neighbours as a friendly man.
Mr MacPherson worked as a chef at the historic Reform Club in London's Pall Mall.
A post-mortem examination at Greenwich mortuary found Mr MacPherson died of head and neck injuries. Mr Schiano suffered neck and torso injuries.
The Italian was last seen travelling on a 432 bus on October 12, getting off in Elder Road, West Norwood at 10.50pm.
Mr MacPherson had left work at 6pm that night.
Police also arrested a 31-year-old man on November 4. He has been released on bail until November 20.
