Police officer arrested on suspicion of inciting prostitution

Spokesman says alleged crimes are believed to have taken place between January and July 2016

A serving police officer has been arrested on suspicion of inciting prostitution, his force has confirmed.

Thames Valley Police said the 44-year-old inspector, who has been suspended from his duties at Milton Keynes, was arrested on 7 February.

A force spokesman said he was suspected of causing or inciting prostitution for gain.

He is also suspected of supplying prescription-only medicine between January and July 2016.

The spokesman said: “The 44-year-old man is an inspector based in Milton Keynes.

"He has been released under investigation and suspended from duties.”
