Teenager quizzed over knife death

A teenager was being questioned today after a 30-year-old man was stabbed to death.

The 17-year-old was detained by gardai who were called to a house in Blarney, Co Cork, at 9pm last night.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area was sealed off overnight for a forensic examination and a post-mortem will be carried out on the dead man today by assistant state pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster.

Gardai at Gurranabraher station are investigating the stabbing at the Ard Na Greine estate and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
