Teacher charged with child sex offences
A teacher was charged today with a string of sex offences against two schoolgirls, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
Christopher Drake, 28, was arrested in the early hours of yesterday after police were called to a disturbance at a flat in Eccles, Greater Manchester.
David Alcock, reviewing lawyer for the CPS, said: "Having considered a file passed to me by Greater Manchester Police, I have now authorised that 18 charges of sexual activity with a child under Section Nine of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 be brought against a 28-year-old man from the Salford area.
"I have also advised that police charge this man with sexual activity with a child whilst in a position of trust, one charge of threats to kill and one charge of common assault."
The CPS said the charges relate to two girls, aged 15 and 16.
Drake, of Ellesmere Road, Eccles, is due to appear at Salford Magistrates' tomorrow.
