Six charged over road death
Six men have been charged in connection with the death of a man in a hit-and-run.
West Midlands Police said Stainton Barrett, 59, died after a car was driven at him in Wolverhampton on Saturday.
The collision happened at 5.15am in Banstead Close, All Saints, the force said.
Mr Barrett, from Wolverhampton, was taken to hospital with severe injuries but was pronounced dead a short time later.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Four other men, aged 26, 28, and two aged 30, have been charged with affray and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
A sixth man, aged 40, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
The men will appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court this morning.
