The naked body of a woman found in a pond in Copdock, Suffolk, on Friday, was that of the missing 19-year-old prostitute Tania Nicol, police confirmed yesterday.

The body of another prostitute, Gemma Adams, 25, was found naked in a brook a mile away at Hintlesham last Saturday. Both women vanished from the red light district of Ipswich, around five miles from Copdock.

Detectives have warned Ipswich prostitutes to "look out for each other" as fears rose that the two women had been killed by the same man, dubbed the Ipswich Ripper.

Officers said that Ms Adams was not sexually assaulted but have not revealed how she died.
