A schoolgirl has been arrested on suspicion of poisoning two teachers.

The teachers, from a school in Torbay, Devon, suffered stomach upsets but were not thought to have been seriously affected.

A kettle from the school's staff room has been sent for forensic examination. Devon and Cornwall Police said a 17-year-old from Cullompton was arrested last week and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Detective Constable Steve Fleetwood said: "The inquiry centres on claims that an allegedly noxious substance may have been put in a kettle which caused two members of staff to fall ill with stomach problems."
