Man arrested after two women killed in 'disturbance' at Salisbury house
No risk posed to wider community, say police
A man has been arrested after two women died in a "disturbance" at a house in Salisbury.
Wiltshire Police were called to a house on Wessex Road at 2.45pm on Monday following concerns for the occupants of the house.
The body of one woman was found at the scene and another woman was found seriously injured, said police.
Paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service also attended, but the second woman’s wounds were fatal and she was pronounced deceased shortly afterwards.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken into custody.
Detective Darren Hannant, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Naturally people will be alarmed due to the large police presence in the area as we carry out our enquiries.
“I would like to reiterate that we have made an arrest and there is no risk posed to the wider community.
“The local community are likely to see a significant police presence in this area for a number of days.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the two victims. We would like to thank the local community in advance for their understanding and patience while we carry out our enquiries,” he added.
