Road rage driver crushes woman against car in Hyde Park Corner

A woman was crushed between two cars during a suspected road rage attack in central London.

The 47-year-old victim was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after being pinned against a Mercedes Benz near Hyde Park Corner.

Video footage of the incident begins with the woman standing in front of a blue Range Rover Evoque with her hands on the bonnet, as if attempting to prevent it from moving.

The vehicle surges forward, forcing her across the road and trapping her against the black Mercedes.

Armed officers then arrive at the scene while bystanders drag the driver out of the Range Rover.

Another video, filmed by a passenger on a nearby bus, showed the woman being helped up after the vehicle was moved back.

Deepak Anand said on Twitter it was an “absolutely ridiculous accident”, adding: “It was a horrible scene for my wife and son to have witnessed.”

The Metropolitan Police said they were investigating whether the car had been driven deliberately into the woman during the incident at around 8.15pm on Sunday 11 August.

On Monday Ade Thompson, 23, of Seeley Drive, Dulwich, was charged with driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and possession of class B drugs.
