Reveller jailed for chainsaw attack

A pub-goer has been jailed for three years after attacking customers in a pub with a chainsaw.

Dean Dinnen, 24, pleaded guilty to the attack which took place at the Endyke public house, north Hull in August 2011.

Hull Crown Court heard that Dinnen had been thrown out for smoking, but he later returned with a chainsaw and began lunging at customers. He was overpowered before anyone was seriously hurt.

One person received injuries to their arm. Detective Constable Richard Mills, from Humberside Police, said someone could have easily been killed. "A weapon such as that knows no boundaries – anything it touches it will cut."
