Police quiz three after heroin deaths
Three people were being questioned today following the deaths of four men who are believed to have taken contaminated heroin.
Three of the men were found dead at addresses in the Bradford area while the fourth died earlier today in hospital, West Yorkshire Police said.
Three men, aged 25, 28 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.
Drug users are now being warned that a potentially contaminated batch of heroin is in circulation in the area.
Police said one man, aged in his 20s, was found dead at an address in the Leeds Road area of Bradford on Friday morning, while another, aged in his 40s, was discovered at an address in the Wyke area of the city later the same day.
Another man in his 40s was found dead in the Girlington area on Saturday and a man from Shipley, near Bradford, was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
A police spokeswoman confirmed this man had now also died.
"This brings the total number of deaths from drugs to four," she said.
"Anyone who is looking to use heroin is warned that what they take could be contaminated."
