A police officer has been charged with forgery after allegedly retracting a woman's harassment report without her knowledge.
Pc Stuart Williams, 37, a West Midlands Police officer, was charged after an investigation was carried out by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
A statement from the IPCC said: "The charge relates to an allegation that a woman's report of harassment by her ex-partner in 2010 was retracted without the woman's knowledge."
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said Williams was still with the force but in another department.
She said: "He is currently performing duties elsewhere in the force until the outcome of the prosecution is known."
Williams will appear before Leamington Spa Magistrates' Court on June 20.
