Police are searching for a man after an 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on a bus in London.

She was on the 343 bus as it travelled along Thurlow Street, in Walworth, on 30 June.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police’s transport command said the attack happened at around 8.30am.

“Unwanted sexual behaviour on the transport network is not tolerated and all sexual offences are taken very seriously,” he added.

The suspect is described as a black man, aged in his mid to late 20s, with short dark hair. He was wearing a striped polo shirt with a contrasting collar.

Detectives have released a CCTV image and are asking anyone with any information to contact Acting Sergeant Jeremy Collins on 07824 545723, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 185411.
