Police are hunting several gunmen following a shootout in a McDonald’s car park in Hull.

Police were called to the scene at 11.35 this morning, after a member of the public reported shots being fired from a vehicle in the car park of the St Andrew’s Quay branch of the fast food chain.

Two people in a blue Volkswagon Golf were shot at from a grey car of the same make, the force of which blew out the windows but left those inside the car unharmed.

The grey vehicle fled the scene following the shootout, passing the Asda Supermarket on Hessle Road, travelling in the direction of Gypseyville.

A firearms unit as well as a police helicopter and support officers attended the scene, where a member of the public was treated for shock after the incident.

The uninjured passengers in the blue car are currently helping police with their enquiries.
