'Pirate site' student in final appeal

A student has appealed against the Home Secretary's ruling that he can be extradited to the US where he faces up to 10 years in jail.

Richard O'Dwyer, 23, is accused by the US authorities of infringing copyright because his website TVShack hosted links to pirated films and TV programmes.

Westminster magistrates ruled in January that the Sheffield Hallam University student could be extradited and Theresa May approved on 13 March.He had until Monday to appeal. His mother, Julia, from Chesterfield, confirmed that lawyers had lodged an appeal.
