Pensioner jailed for smuggling heroin

A pensioner has been jailed for five years for attempting to smuggle almost £100,000 worth of heroin into Britain.

David Pryor, 73, from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, admitted trying to import the Class A drug at Isleworth Crown Court.

He was arrested on 5 September last year when he arrived at Heathrow from Tanzania with drugs hidden in wicker baskets.
