A protester admits to causing a huge security alert in Parliament by throwing marbles at a glass screen that separates MPs from the public gallery.
Steven Abberley, 27, from south London, shouted: “You are all liars” while he chucked the glass balls at the barrier in the House of Commons during Prime Minister’s questions.
The incident occurred while David Cameron was taking questions on the NHS in May last year. Several MPs and political journalists who were present at the weekly session tweeted about the disturbance.
A House of Commons spokesman had said of the incident: “Following a disturbance in the public gallery during Prime Minister’s Questions today, a man was escorted from the gallery by doorkeepers and is currently in Metropolitan Police custody.
“The incident did not disrupt the business of the House and there were no injuries sustained.”
CCTV also captured him using red paint to write ‘the enemy within’ on a wall in the grounds of Parliament, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.
He admitted to one count of criminal damage and one of threatening behaviour and is set to be sentenced on 2 April.
