Four patients and four members of staff have been attacked during a “serious incident” at a doctors’ surgery.

Police were called to Parkside Medical Centre in Bletchley, near Milton Keynes, at about 9am on Monday.

Three people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after they were assaulted, the practice said.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said a man was arrested on suspicion of multiple assaults and remains in custody.

Parkside Medical Centre wrote on Facebook: “This morning at Parkside Medical Centre a serious incident occurred where 4 members of staff and 4 members of the public were assaulted.

“Their injuries were not life threatening but 3 people were taken to A&E. We are deeply upset by this incident and wish everyone involved a speedy recovery.

“The wellbeing of our patients and staff is paramount at this time and measures are currently being put in place to offer support to anyone affected by the event today.”

The surgery remains closed and patients are being advised to contact their local pharmacy or the NHS on 111.
