Pair held over nightclub 'glassing' attack

A girl of 17 and a man have been freed on bail after being arrested over a vicious glassing incident in a seaside nightclub, police said today.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, suffered multiple cuts to his head and neck in the TMG Club in Worthing, West Sussex, in the early hours of Monday.

The man, whose identity has not been revealed, was taken from the scene in Sompting Road to Worthing Hospital where his condition is not life-threatening.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and the girl was held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, Sussex Police said.

The pair, both from Rustington, were released on police bail until January 28 as officers appealed for witnesses to call them on 0845 6070 999.
