Pair accused of Carole Waugh murder remanded

Friday 17 August 2012 12:30 EDT

Two men were remanded in custody yesterday when they made their first appearance in court charged with the murder of Carole Waugh.

Rakesh Bhayani, 40, of Wembley, and Nicholas Kutner, 47, of no fixed address, appeared by video link at Croydon magistrates' court.

They spoke only to confirm their names and dates of birth, and were remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on 22 November. They have already been charged with fraud offences linked to the disappearance of the 50-year-old.

Ms Waugh, who worked for an oil company, was reported missing in May. Her body was found on 2 August with a single stab wound in a garage in New Malden, south-west London.
