No charges for footballer El Hadji Diouf over Circle Club brawl
Footballer El Hadji Diouf will face no charges over a nightclub brawl.
The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder following a fight at the Circle Club in Manchester city centre in the early hours of April 15.
Premier League defender Anton Ferdinand, 27, was also questioned under caution by police about the incident and was released without charge,
Doncaster Rovers striker Diouf was among six men arrested by officers investigating the matter which left a 33-year-old man needing hospital treatment for head and neck injuries.
The former Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool and Rangers player was a team-mate of Ferdinand at Sunderland.
Three men have been charged in connection with the fight, police said.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Three men have been charged after a disturbance in a nightclub in Manchester city centre.
"Leon Walters, 33, of Water Mews, London, Wayne Boucher, 41, of Bonsor Street, London, and Steven Martin, 41, of Shurland Gardens, London, have been charged with affray."
All three men will appear before Manchester magistrates on August 16.
