The masseuse who was found stabbed in her home operated a legitimate business, police stated yesterday.

Angela Chiu, 48, advertised "luxury massage" services in a local newspaper as part of the business she ran from her home in Poole, Dorset, where her body was discovered last Friday.

Police stated yesterday that there was no evidence that her work was linked to her murder.

Det Ch Supt Neil Redstone, the senior investigating officer, said: "Angela was a qualified health therapist and, despite widespread speculation to the contrary, our enquiries to date have established that she ran a legitimate business."

Her sister Elaine Willis, 54, told The Times: "Whoever did this to Angela locked her in the bathroom. I've heard so many theories about what happened. But the police think this man locked her in there and then took the key with him."
