A man arrested on suspicion of murdering his neighbour following a reported dispute over the height of a garden fence will face no criminal action.

Donald Bowman, 56, was detained following the death of David Fantom, 63, in Stockport in July. Mr Fantom, a grandfather, suffered head injuries and died the same day in hospital.

Mr Bowman was questioned by police and later released on bail. It is understood post-mortem tests proved inconclusive and that the head injuries appeared superficial. The matter will now be passed to the coroner.
