Two people charged with murder of one-month-old baby in London
Clare Sanders and Tomas Vaitkevicius will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday
A man and woman have been charged with the murder of a one-month old baby in south London, the Metropolitan Police said.
Clare Sanders, 42, and Tomas Vaitkevicius, 44, are accused of the murder, and causing or allowing the death, of Eva Sanders in 2017.
The pair, from Mitcham, were summonsed to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Scotland Yard revealed the pair were charged earlier this month by postal requisition.
Eva died in hospital on 2 September 2017, a day after being admitted.
A Met statement said: “Clare Sanders, 42 (07.07.76) and Tomas Vaitkevicius, 44 (20.01.75) both of Streatham Road, Mitcham CR4, were summonsed to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on 30 April after being charged by postal requisition on 3 April with murder, and causing/allowing the death of a child, namely Eva Sanders.
“Eva Sanders died on 2 September 2017 after being admitted to hospital the previous day.”
