Mother of four 'stabbed to death in bungled burglary'
The 34-year-old was found with serious injuries at her home in Luton
A mother of four has died after being attacked during a bungled burglary, it has been reported.
The 34-year-old, named locally as care worker Saima Khan, was found with serious injuries at her home on Overstone Road, Luton, at 11.30pm on Monday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and Bedfordshire Police said a murder investigation is under way.
Neighbours claimed Ms Khan, who had young children, was stabbed in the neck and was found in a pool of blood.
Nousheen Dar told Luton Today: "I did see that she was on the floor in the doorway and there was a lot of blood around her.
"It was horrible and I don't know why it has happened. It seems so random. At the time everyone was just in shock."
Ms Dar said Ms Khan's sister begged paramedics to help her but they could not do anything.
Detective Chief Inspector Adam Gallop, senior investigating officer, said: "We are treating the woman's death as murder and it's therefore of the utmost importance that anyone with information that could help our investigation gets in touch immediately.
"We are following a number of lines of inquiry and are keeping an open mind as to what led to this tragic incident."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
