Moat's boast in jail before gun rampage

Raoul Moat told a prison barber, "I'll be back inside by Friday, I've got a few arses to kick", shortly before his murder rampage, a court heard.

Moat, 37, was bent on tracking down his former girlfriend's new boyfriend, Chris Brown, Newcastle Crown Court was told.

He allegedly enlisted the help of his former business partner Karl Ness, 26, and Qhuram Awan, 23. Mr Ness is charged with the murder of Mr Brown, and Mr Ness and Mr Awan are charged with the attempted murder of PC David Rathband, who was shot and blinded by Moat. They deny the charges. The case continues.
