Missing internet chat girl found safe

A 15-year-old girl who was thought to have gone missing after meeting a man on the internet was found safe and well overnight, police said today.
Kerrie White, from Kirkheaton in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was last seen at the town's railway station on 26 August.
West Yorkshire Police said at the time that it was thought Kerrie had arranged to meet an unknown man in Leeds before travelling to London.
The teenager was found in the London area and returned to her family.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said it was not yet known who Kerrie was with in the capital.
He said: "Having been only just returned to her family, she'll be given a bit of breathing space and then the investigating officers will be looking into that line of inquiry."
Kerrie's mother, Madge Gill, said her daughter spent most nights talking to people in internet chatrooms and that men would telephone their home in the early hours of the morning.
But Kerrie was told about the dangers of meeting up with anyone she spoke to over the internet, her mother added.
"We always told her the risks of speaking to people on the internet, but she said 'They're only 16' and didn't listen when I told her they could be anyone telling you what you want to hear," Ms Gill told the Halifax Evening Courier.
"I warned her never to meet up with anyone she'd met online. We both told her the dangers."
