Met plans city crime league

London's police force plans to publish a league table comparing its crime record with other international cities such as New York and Paris.

Ian Blair, the Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner, toldPolice Review magazine that he had been working to draw up "international benchmarks". The Met hopes to show Londoners that it is making the capital "the world's safest major city".
