Men charged after attack on police

Two men have been charged with the attempt to murder a police officer in Northern Ireland last Saturday.

One of them, a 26-year-old, is also charged with the attempted shooting at an undercover unit in the border village of Garrison, Co Fermanagh, last Saturday. He and a 32-year-old man face additional charges of possessing a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

The men will appear in court in Dungannon today.
